Shadow Patterns and Tracks

Another blue sky day and strong sunlight which felt deliciously warm. I saw this pattern on the snow from an upstairs window and was drawn to photograph it, even though it goes against the grain of being out in nature.

I did go outside for my walk later and to photograph, but I liked this shot better.

I liked how the tree trunk shadow on the left echoes the line of the tracks on the right. Both of these go into the bottom corners forming a triangle, the bottom of the frame being the implied third side. The eye is funnelled into the top of the frame where the smaller squiggly branch shadow awaits. A very graphic image.
