Place Fell

The weather forecast wasn't at all good but somehow the sun prevailed and the threatening dark clouds that were never far away only delivered a bit of rain at the end of what was a beautiful and varied circuit from Patterdale. 

This gives no idea of the strength of the wind and how I had to brace myself to take this shot. The difference between the valley and the tops was staggering. This might actually be a new Lakeland summit for me. It was certainly a new route. There is a lot to be said for occasionally avoiding the high fells.
