Greatstone

We went further along the coast today to walk Dog, mainly because we wanted to try out the fish and chip takeaway in the next village, and so did both at the same time! The buildings in the distance on the top picture is where we live, and most of my beach pictures are taken. Over the last few weeks, the sea defences have been strengthened and the bottom photo shows the mountain I have to climb to get back to the road!

I had no particular plans for today, but am not good without a plan! Ended up pulling up the carpet in the porch which we had noticed was damp in one area. It had always seemed a bit strange having a carpet in the outer porch, so decided to see what was underneath. Red quarry tiles. Not as pristine as when they were laid in the 60s but more fitting than beige carpet, and at least we can now seal the edges letting in water. It did take some scrubbing and polishing, but killed a few unplanned hours!
