A busy day with the boys

Thankfully we had a good sleep and the sore throat is just a bit scratchy.

We drove the boys to our house and they were off to the woods with grandad after a second breakfast of eggy bread. I sorted out food for later. After more stoking up, they had the obligatory play fight, so we had to get them out again. They played near the churchyard, climbing up the bank and sliding down, getting filthy. They cleaned up by messing about in the river, throwing stones for 30 minutes. They went over the stepping stones (first time for Thomas by himself) as Mr C had to go to pay the car-fixer. On the way we passed the tractor sales place. While their fish was cooking they helped make some blueberry muffins. Thomas worked out that as there were 12 we could have 3 each. Finally they chilled with a painting program on our iPads.

Unfortunately the water has been off most of the day as the road repairers burst a main. Inconvenient as the boys are particularly dirty.
But all is not lost - have tonic for the gin when the boys are finally in bed.
