On arriving at Cotehele for a mornings walk I found gig races occurring! No wonder the carpark was full - luckily a car was leaving as I was trying to reverse out the carpark having found no spaces and having no room to turn around!  On getting to the quay I spotted a  friend who was in one of the teams so I stopped for a chat. We were constantly interrupted by people approaching and asking about Oscar! He created quite a stir! I set off to walk Oscar as my friend set up the river to the start of her race. Unfortunatly Oscar got bitten on the muzzle by a dog he approached - didn't learn anything from it as he went bounding up to the next dogs we met! It was reassuring to see him in high spirits as he had an upset stomach and i had not fed him for 12 hours!
Unfortunatly my friend was faster than she thought they would be and as I approached the corner back to the quay I heard massive cheers and shouting! Gigs were still coming in so I quickly walked to see where she had come. Well her gig came first! There were seven gigs in her race so a fine bit of rowing! She said she set the speed and they had been practising sprinting for the finish line -  it sure paid off! There are a few more photos here. It wasn't a very nice day for it but it didn't seem to put any of them off!
On the way home I bought some cooked chicken for Oscar to have with his rice. I know! I can't believe I was buying chicken! But it's what they recommend for dogs with an upset stomach and his stomach was really upset! He loved it!
