Glenorchy Kirk
I was in Oban until early afternoon and then went to Dalmally to discuss the plans for a ling distance walking route, the Pilgrim’s Way, which are slowly coming to fruition .
The path would run from St Andrews to Iona and in this part of Scotland is being promoted by Calum MacFarlane-Barrow whose Craig Lodge is a Catholic retreat house , sitting next to the River Orchy , not far from Glenorchy Kirk.
It is also of course where the charity Mary’s Meals started its amazing growth . It is now feeding one and a half million children a day world wide.
As Marie Claire and I drove away we felt refreshed by the positivity and generous spirit ( and spirituality) of the place and of Calum himself. It had been a much needed intermission in the midst of current chaos.
Moments later this view of the Kirk through the trees, with the light rising behind and the silver river below , appeared in front of us and seemed to sum it all up.
