English Lake District
I adore The Lakes with a passion. When younger and fitter I managed to get here often, to see friends, to walk the fells and to climb. Most often it was to climb.I always felt that I would never let anything stop me climbing. Reality stepped in as the years counted up. Now my kids climb too, but none of us get over to the Lakes as often as I wish we could.
So today us two fifty-somethings did! We headed for Ambleside, had a superb lunch at Lucy's (always fantastic ) and fitted a dogwalk in too. Not bad really as we only got over early afternoon.
It was cold, rather overcast and threatening rain......but who cared? Not us.
The next trip over is being planned as I type.
