The Demon drink!

The former inhabitants of Clyde Road got together for their annual shindig this evening. Once, we would have carried on until well into the early hours and fallen into bed just before breakfast, but times change and we have become a little more restrained.

That said, H still managed to persuade everyone to join him in drinking his (in)famous German gluhwein, the making of which is recorded in this blip. The recipe for this most intoxicating of beverages is as follows: take a deep pan, add red wine and slices of orange and lemon, simmer gently. Add spices and continue to simmer. When ready, rest sugar cone across the top of the pan and slowly pour rum (54% alcohol this year!) over the sugar so that it soaks in. Light sugar cone and watch in awe/horror as it melts into the pan. Drink (ensuring all flames have been extinguished!).

A great night. We should do it more often.
