Freedom of the city of York

Tonight my two children were granted the freedom of the city of York in a ceremony at the guild hall. They were presented with their certificate by the lord mayor.

It comes via my maternal granddad who's ancestor was granted it in the early 1800s when he was an apprentice white smith.

The tree is in St Helens square outside the mansion house.
