Ezy Rider
An old mate suggested to me in a message this morning that I should watch Robert Macfarlane's Wild Places In Essex on iPlayer as it features Epping Forest. As it happens blipper ceridwen had already told me about it. I love it. Coincidentally I'd already planned to visit the forest today to see the motorcycles visiting to celebrate the anniversary of the speedway track that used to be behind the Kings Oak pub.
The place was absolutely heaving on this unusually warm and sunny spring-like day. There was nowhere to park at High Beach so Ollie dog and I walked there from a forest clearing. She loved it. I bought her a sausage at the bikers' hut and snapped the above. I'm interested in but not into bikes. I think this might be a classic from my era, possibly a Vincent Rapide from the late forties or early fifties. I love the eight-sided 'Zeppelin-shaped' sports sidecar. It could be a German Steib, a Watsonian GP Manx or a replica of either.
