Swee waxbill
A much cooler, overcast day, ideal for a walk around Kirstenbosch. Many many lovely plants, but my favourite photo for the day is this little bird, identified on our return home as a swee waxbill (I think).
We walked around for several hours, and then had a cream scone and coffee milkshake, and made a brief visit to the gift shop.
Then we drove down to Kalk Bay, admired the antics of the seals (see extra), and bought hake, calamari and chips at Kalky's, which we brought home.
As we drove home, the wind got up and blew away the clouds, so I anticipate a hot night again.
