Whisky but no Gin

Yes whisky, on a Tuesday school night - Enrichment Days do that to teachers.

Both of my colleagues Mat and Filly blipped early before the mayhem started.

On Enrichment days we collapse the normal timetabled lessons, and 'enrich' our students with a broader, richer, different diet of learning.

Staff dread it, moving out of our comfort zone, students not sat nicely behind desks - but then the day normally goes smoothly, and the most unlikely students surprise you with little gems of knowledge, or skills you would never have guessed they had.

The title refers to a conversation I had with my nearly 90 yr old Nan at the weekend. She chided the present Mrs Mart for 'diluting' gin with tonic. Apparently during the austere war years (not sure if she was referring to 1st or 2nd world war...) the only thing she added to her gin was whisky!!!
