The Hounslow

I think the opening night of the Hounslow Photographic Prize exceeded all our expectations. 
We sold the first picture to a couple who wandered in during the afternoon while we were still setting up so that put us in an optimistic mood.
These ladies were with the photographer so they were very excited. They are visiting town on a girls weekend and obviously having a great time.

Lots of people turned up for the opening and were very positive about the concept and the standard of entries.
The "Best in Show" winner, Alan Daniel, was thrilled. He is pictured in extras with his wife in front of his winning photograph. 
Unlike quite a few entrants he is not a professional photographer.

It was great to see occasional blipper, Cymbeline, receive an Honorary Mention as did our friend Mina with a fabulous shot taken after bushfires on her phone!

One of the major prizes went to a member of the Blackheath Photo Group so there will be great celebrations at our meeting on Monday.
