Spring!?!

What a fabulous day.

We walked virtually in the light this morning at 7.00am and as the forecast was good Chris and I had decided to go out later in the morning. First choice was Brodsworth Hall to see the snowdrops before they are finished but it wasn't open today so we set off north to Fountains Abbey.

We were there almost exactly a year ago on our way to Goathland for Grace’s birthday so we knew there would be some snowdrops but the bonus today of course was the sun.
Got there in time for a coffee in the newly refurbished cafe, only reopened this morning, having seen a Red Kite and three Kestrels en route.

We had a lovely walk around and saw lots of open snowdrops mainly in the water banking or under the trees in the woods.(You can just spot them either side of the water in this shot, amongst the trees)
We returned to the cafe for lunch and actually sat out side without our coats - Spring? Too soon but it certainly felt like it. A fabulous St Valentine’s Day.
