Bijaipur

We are staying in the lovely Castle Bijaipur; the Maharajah and family still live here so we have met some of them. He is very charismatic and charming!  Today Pen and I went walkabout in the village after spending some time exploring the grounds. Pen found a friend - a lovely greyhound who just came up and pushed itself onto her legs and would not let her go until she'd stroked him!  We enjoyed watching the farrier who was there until very late in the afternoon shoeing all the beautiful Marwari horses, with their distinctive turned in ears.  We sat in the shade in the village just watching life go by - extras showing some of the wonderful colours of the locals.  We also came across some semi wild boars - the one photo showing me exactly where the phrase pig in sh*t came from... it's snuffling through the cattle dung for grubs. Love the faces of the men in the background who probably could not understand why I'd wish to snap the pig!
