Serendipity
A few days ago I was reading an article about the Oakland Raiders, soon to be Las Vegas Raiders (football/gridiron) and the dilemma that their stadium in Vegas willl not be finished for the next season and they can no longer play in Oakland. One of the stadiums being considered (and subsequently rejected) was the Sam Boyd Stadium in eastern Las Vegas. I pulled up Google Maps to see where this was and was intrigued to find that right next door is the Clark County Wetlands Park. That really caught my attention.
I flew to Las Vegas yesterday to see my son and daughter-in-law and to go to a few hockey games. First thing this morning, I headed across town to the above-mentioned wetlands park. What a treat. I saw rabbits, a Northern Harrier, Silky Flycatchers, hummingbirds, Ibises, lots of waterfowl, and a Road-runner. This is an Orange-crowned Warbler and a lucky shot.
I managed to capture a few other shots which I will have to post as extras tomorrow, because I am off to a hockey game now. Go Knights!
