Stacking up...

Never one to miss an opportunity Dr D spotted some council contractors doing some heavy pruning of street side leptospermum "Copper Sheen" today. Very like NZ native manuka it makes wonderful firewood so having asked permission, he nipped back with the trailer and spent an hour loading this extremely heavy wood to put away for a (cold and )rainy day. Tomorrow he'll cut it into lengths and put it through the splitter before making another stack  of firewood for the fireplace a few years hence. It's dripping with sap right now.
