Waimakariri River

Rather than driving into Christchurch this hot week I went across the river to Oxford to do my grocery shopping. I took my Powershot because I planned to look for closeup subjects, but it was too hot to be messing around with macros. My DSLR has a much better depth of field, which would have improved this shot. The river was a beautiful blue and relatively smooth. I was attracted by the shaft of light from the gap between the trees.
