One eyed!
The cataract surgery today went very well. It was the most interesting surgery I have every been through. You have to be awake during the entire procedure so that you can respond when the surgeon tells you to look in a certain direction. The right eye--the one they operated on--mostly was just a blur of bright lights. The left eye was covered with a drape, so I really couldn't see much. But, I could hear everything that was going on. I could tell when he was taking out the cataract, and I definitely felt it when he put in the new lens. There was a bit of pain, but it was tolerable. Now I have to wear this shield until I go back to the doctor tomorrow morning. After that I only have to wear it when I'm asleep. It just keeps you from touching it. I still can't see all that well in that eye, but apparently that's normal and will improve shortly. Onward and upward!
