I am, by nature, an optimist. But over the years, and particularly in business, some things have ground me down and made me a bit of a cynic. Things like networking events, for example. 

Occasionally, though, something that I fear will be a dreadful waste of time is still attractive enough to overcome my cynicism and this morning I attended - with some foreboding - a presentation entitled the 'Supplier Relationship Management SME regional event'.

And do you know what? It was great! I mean, still a bit boring in places but actually genuinely useful. I left feeling pretty upbeat, optimism resurgent!
