Naturally Brown Cotton

Among the indigenous people of this area are many wonderfully skilled weavers. They raise this naturally brown cotton, clean, spin, and weave it, which is an extremely labor intensive process. Sage green is another naturally occurring color. Last year I attended a fiber arts tour of the coast of Oaxaca, and I have many photos of the women weavers. When my blog is ready I will post pictures and more explanation.

This cotton plant happens to be growing in the patio of the place we live.
