Highly Unsprung

Sad Farewell

A sad day, heading up to the Moray Coast to pay respects to Becky's Norrie, to support Team Rattray. It was such a shock to hear Becky's news that Norrie had passed. It had been at least 18 years maybe since we'd last all seen each other, with Becky and I getting married to our other halves in the same year, raising a family and leading busy lives since. But time passes so quickly and can be taken from us so suddenly. It was good to see Janette, if in sad circumstances. The service was personal, humanist and occasionally humerous, a celebration of Norrie's family and friend filled life, just as it should be, held in the beautiful moray crematorium. The wake afterwards was packed in tribute to Norrie, and in support of Becky and Ben, who obviously are part of so many peoples lives. I only got to talk with Becky briefly, but long enough to know she still is very much a beautiful, practical, open hearted soul. But so very heartbroken. Ben is a credit to both his parents. I thought they were both amazing, I didn't have the right words to convey how much I was sorry for their loss and quietly wished them every strength for the hours, days, weeks and months ahead as I travelled home. I hope to see Becky again soon.

From Team Stuart to Team Rattray, you are still very much in our thoughts.
