Trip on the Molesworth Road .....

..... with Nature Photographic Society.

We were very lucky indeed to be able to make the trip this weekend. The Acheron Road, including the Severn to Sedgemere 4WD Road, was closed late Sunday (yesterday), because of severe fire risk.

This image was taken near the beginning of the road that winds northwards, from Hanmer and Jacks Pass, towards Molesworth & Muller Stations. It looks down into the lower Acheron River. 

I have included an image in Extras, looking north up towards Muller Station, showing the Inland Kaikoura Mountains, and including Mitre Peak and Mount Tapuae-o-Uenuku, formerly Mount Tapuaenuku, which is the highest peak in the northeast of New Zealand's South Island.

The scenery was magnificent, our 15 NPS members plus seven 4WD vehicles all travelled well, and we had a fabulous day.
