Expectation Gap

Reading the menu, banana fritters in caramel sauce with run & raisin ice cream sounded lovely. It was the first time I'd had banana fritters and I don't know quite what I was expecting, but I must admit to losing my appetite when the plate was presented! I managed one before giving up.
