Frosty

A beautiful morning for a walk in Kelvingrove Park.So pleased that the sun was shining and the frost was heavy so everywhere glistened.
After breakfast we headed straight for the park. It’s right on the doorstep. First stop was the frozen pond. The usual friendly robin was there.Abit further round the squirrels and pigeons were in their usual place. ‘Pigeon tree’ was full with pigeons on each branch. We watched the moorhens skating on the icy surface .long tailed tits hung from the branches , bluetits and Great tits were also in great numbers, I wished I had some seed with me.
The trees were so white and the ground Chrispy as we walked.
We found a really good deli at the other end of the park and treated ourselves to a hot coffee and two delicious cakes that we shared.
We walked up the steep hill to the Uni.The buildings looked magnificent against the blue sky.I particularly liked the round building ,the Macmillan Reading Room, which used to be the old library.
We looked round the Court yard at the sculptures then We looked around the Mackintosh house which was splendid especially the white drawing room which was flooded with light.
On to the main Uni where we visited the Chapel with it’s wonderful stained glass windows. An exhibition showing the work of Hannah Frank was on display.
Through the light covered cloisters to admire the view.A Raven was sitting at the top of the tall steeple making his presence known.
A quick look at Dippy the dinosaur at Kelvingrove Museum and onto dinner at the Ox and Finch.lots of smaller dishes of food which we shared.
Finally off to see the fantastic War Horse . You really do forget that the horses are ‘puppets’ very clever and just a few tears shed at a part I was not expecting to cry at.We were also lucky enough to be moved from the Gallery to the stalls so we had great seats with a very good view :)
