Me & EU Exhibition Barnsley

A small exhibition of postcards that is currently being exhibited in Barnsley Civic Gallery (at the top of the stairs).  It seemed an appropriate exhibition to visit as we continue to have the Brexit soap opera inflicted on us.  When in the history of the Tory party have we had a government that seems so intent on doing the country down and making us all poorer, meaner more insular (while making sure they protect their own best interests)?

We also visited the Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition at The Cooper Gallery, which was stunning and highly recommended if you get chance to visit. (Their choice of photos here don’t show it at its best - there are others that do a better job.). I think it’s a touring exhibition.

Lunch also in the Civic Gallery cafe as we have a friend from London staying this week.

I’ve definitely failed on the Blip front this week as there seems to be quite a lot going on in my life at the moment (most of which has been of my own making)!  I’m in the middle of gathering together images from members of Penistone Camera Club who want to enter the Yorkshire Federation Annual Exhibition (including trying to get my own ready) while trying to get my head around what I’ve let myself in for by agreeing to coordinate the newly forming regional Digital Image Group for the RPS (far more than I initially thought).  Something has to go and I’d already decided to give myself a break and to free myself to pursue other photographic and artistic projects by stepping down from the Camera Club Committee.  My new commitment has reinforced the thought that this will be a good thing to do.  Oh and I decided that I’d enter the DIG annual competition as I’m going to the AGM, so another first for me.
