X marks the spot

No I haven't gone mad since discovering the contrast/brightness adjustment yesterday, this is the way it really looked and I haven't touched it. Which is a lesson for me in itself, namely that I don't have to fiddle about with my newly discovered toys just because I know that they are there now.

Along the riverbank it looks as if the council are preparing for some major tree planting. Quite a few of the old trees have come down in storms over the past few years. So, the riverbank has lots of X's on it. And this is a close up.

Unfortunately, while I was distracted taking a photo of some markings on the ground my dog (half whippet/half fox) was stealing a rusk from a baby in its buggy. The shame. Fortunately the Granny who was pushing her granddaughter around saw the funny side.

Either that or she didn't fancy messing with a man who clearly hadn't shaved for a week, was dressed like Worzel Gummidge and who had muddy knees from scrabbling around photographing the ground.
