Blowing Away The Cobwebs

A long walk on the beach at Tentsmuir this morning. It was very windy - just what we needed after last night's celebratory dinner .... and the irresistible hotel breakfast.  TM managed the kippers - I'm saving that treat for tomorrow, before we depart.

In the afternoon we went into St Andrews, where I'd heard there was a very good bookshop. It was easily found, and, yes, it was good.  Within 5 minutes of entering we were asked if we wanted coffee, it was brought out on a tray, we were ushered to seats at a table (in amongst the book stacks) where we could browse, and browse we did.  Of course this is salesmanship - but brilliant, and of course it worked. 

We finished the day with a trip down the coast for fish and chips at the Anstruther chippy, the best in the land, haddock straight out of the hold of the 'Audacious'.  Then back to the hotel to prop up the bar for a couple of hours, and now I'm in bed and looking forward to that kipper.
