Today's Project

Most days seem to have a theme, a project, something that when you look back you think; "Ah yes, the day that happened" or "the day I did....". So, today's blip is the bathroom in the Red House, where our visitors usually stay.  Previous visitors had reported a slight leak under the sink and we'd bodged a repair several times but the problem finally needed a proper fix. It was the plug hole assembly that was leaking but it refused to budge and in the end I thought the solution was a new unit, so today I took the whole thing off the wall. Once the sink was on the floor the offending bit suddenly gave up and came loose. Hopefully I can get a new one and then put everything back together to get a renovated and functioning unit once more. Better for our bank account and for the environment. Stylewise the old sink and taps fit much better into the Red House than sparkling new and modern ones would.
