Storm Erik
We've had strong winds and gales in North Norfolk for the last few days with the visit of Storm Erik to our shores. Whilst still very windy today, the sun came out with lots of big fluffy clouds scuttling along. A and I decided to risk it (there are lots of old trees along the side of the small country roads) and went to Blickling this morning. Although the house, shop, cafe and part of the garden were open, most of the garden and grounds were closed off because of the risk of falling trees. I turned the photo into mono to make it more sinister looking, although now I think it looks like a model for a film!
Yesterday A and I went to hear the author Elly Griffiths talk at Holt library. She was very entertaining, a great raconteur. She was there to promote the launch of her new book The Stone Circle - the 11th book in the series of crime novels set in North Norfolk featuring Dr Ruth Galloway, a forensic archaeologist. Hopefully there will be a tv series one day.....fingers crossed.
