Sitting and surveying his/her patch of extremely dry farmland - the land is tinder dry and rain is desperately needed.  (Nelson/Tasman, NZ)

While some rain has fallen in several small localised areas the district continues to dry - it was December when rain last fell at my house.

According to NIWA, the Nelson region experienced the highest sunshine hours in NZ for 2018 with 2555 hours.


I uploaded yesterday’s blip earlier today and I thank everyone who has visited, commented and left stars and hearts. Thank you very much.

The fire continues to cause havoc as it crept closer to the township of Wakefield today and now people in the Wai-iti area have been asked to prepare to evacuate.
