Black blip for Friday 8th February


Stayed the night with M.  She had been complaining of how many tomatoes she had lost to the birds - they had even been eating through the bird netting. She'd left some plants for them to have hoping they might leave the covered ones alone.  True to form a female blackbird (I think that is what it is) came to have another go at a tomato it had started earlier. Half an hour later the tomato was on the ground and a bit later again it had completely disappeared altogether.   I don't remember ever remember seeing Auckland looking so dry.
