Nesting Up Helly Aa 2019
A windy morning, by 10am rain started and rained most of the day and gales picked up. Rain eased for a couple of hours, but started again tonight.
I've been working on the museum desk all day again, and a steady morning of visitors, due to the rain. We also had a group event in the afternoon. A couple of hours at home, and then headed out to see the Nesting Up Helly Aa. Movie night and feet up by the fire now.
The Up Helly Aa season is well and truly underway, with Uyeasound and also the Nesting one both on today. They had a poor start to the day, but luckily cleared for a fine but breezy procession. Pictured here is a previous Jarl Ian Coutts as a Marshall, with this year's Jarl Steve Cassidy behind him. Hope they all have a superb night, and party til the early hours. Taken outside the South Nesting hall.
