Winter sunset at the lakes

I haven't been to my favourite local lakes for almost a month. It's either been too wet, too cold or I've been too busy :(

I was determined to get there today before the weather gets really cold again. I finished work a bit earlier than expected so, after a quick cup of tea and a salad, I hopped back on my bike and did the 10 minute cycle. It was lovely and sunny when I left my house but an hour later on my return my hands were freezing - even through thick gloves. I think we are in for a very cold evening.

I have blipped Radley Lakes many times before. This was taken at Thrupp Lake, the larger of the two reclaimed gravel pits that are now looked after by the Earth Trust.
