Kesef

' Kesef ' is the Hebrew word for silver and also means money. However, chocolate money often given at Chanuka is usually covered in gold paper. Go figure. Another traditional gift for the festival.

There are 3 candles lit in my Blip as I took the photo after sunset today, which is when each new candle is lit. Yesterday I blipped during the day when only 1 candle had been lit ( the evening before ). Yesterday evening 2 candles were lit, this evening 3 and so on until there are 8 lighted candles representing the 8 day miracle of the oil burning in the Temple.

Technically, there should be another candle burning too. This is called the ' shamash ' meaning ' the helper ' and is the candle that is used to light the other candles, but I don't have enough candles!

I also don't have any sevivonim, so please take a look at TexMama.
