Vocal cord augmentation

One of the symptoms of Huntington’s Disease is the atrophy of the vocal cords. This causes the patient to lose the ability to speak loud enough to be heard, and also can lead to aspiration of food down the windpipe because the vocal cords do not close tightly.
Hubby was considered a good candidate for vocal cord augmentation, an injection that would plump up his cords so they would close completely. And today was the day!
This is a shot on my phone of hubby’s “wimpy” vocal cords (the doc’s words, not mine) before the procedure. Then I was ushered out of the room before the injection was administered.
Hubby is still recovering at home, but his raspy voice seems much louder!
