Struggling to stay on two feet!

The ice is taking some time to thaw and just a bit too long for these mallards.

There is a film of water lying on top of the ice and for the ducks it is very slippy. L and I watched them for ages as they skated, slipped and did tummy slides across the ice as they tried to get to the patches of open water.

The morning was certainly the best time for a walk .... rain and hail this afternoon ..... best viewed through the window!
