Pillar of Creation I

I've seen images like this before in photographs - a bay in Vietnam - but not in person.  A spire of rock rising abruptly out of the ocean - one wonders what could cause such a peculiar singular, tall and narrow spire rising out of the ocean surface.  This was once again in Alaska's "inner passage".
