Highland

We arrived in Barbados and went out on a tour of the island before spending a couple of hours on the beach.
Again the colonial presence is still very apparent. This was a former estate, named Highland as it was settled by Scots, who thought the landscape reminded them of Scotland. It actually does if you take away the palms and other tropical fruit trees and bushes, as many of the species of trees here were brought by the Scots. There is also a parish of St Andrew here as well.
