The World is Flat

So... we are having this missions conference this weekend. And we have a lot of kids in our midst. And we feel like it's never too early to help kiddos realize that loving people practically can impact their lives forever. So... we show them maps and tell them stories about children we've met along the way, that are their age who live very, very different lives.

My dear friend Sheila is in charge of the children this weekend, so she is also in charge of the map. When I went over for lunch today, it was taped to the floor, and I knew that I was in trouble when I immediately thought, "The World is Flat."

I knew Thomas Friedman would be proud, but wondered if I needed a vacation. I did take a bit of a mini break tonight with some fantastic red wine, a little flirting with my favorite waiter in Berlin, and an evening with the ultimate roommate - AJ. We are tired and cold and headed to bed...

But we're wondering if that whole world is round bit was a big marketing ploy by the globe makers of the world.
