Monday: Pre-Holiday

I've been without a PA, or Executive Assistant as they're called here, for quite some time while we recruited a successor for Erica, who went off to work in the cannabis industry. My new assistant, who moved from Toronto to take the job, started today so we will now work on getting used to each other.

Today was one of my regular lunches with European colleagues - they've kindly renamed the group European, from EU, to take account of the UK's future circumstances. To be honest, though, if there's one thing that persuades me that
Brexit might not be a bad thing, it's these lunches which go on for a fairly endless time!

Hans and Lesley came to stay tonight. They are en route to Tahiti for a holiday so came over from the island to spend the night with us before heading to the airport tomorrow. Their plans sound very exotic!
