Gators...We Got Gators

In all of the time that we've been coming to Florida, we've never been to the Everglades. That changed today. We left at about 9 a.m., and were here at about 1:30. Then (like a bunch of other people here)...we became tourists. Every one had told us..."Take an airboat ride...take an airboat ride." So...we did (after paying 25 smackers apiece.)

The ride was at the gator "farm", and...I have to say...was less than thrilling. Plus, we all got wet. Lesson learned.

This smiling guy was at the "farm." I like to think that he opened up just for me.

After leaving the "trap" , we ventured into the National Park, and saw 6 wild alligators, and tried to see a sunset...but it never developed.

Tomorrow, we're off to visit the southern-most spot in the United States...Key West, Florida. One question. If it is the southern-most spot...why isn't it called Key South?

P.S. Check out the extra in my Extras. An iguana that we saw on the boat ride. Ugly...but fascinating. Fascinating, and unwelcome. An invasive species.
