Empty Corridors

Excuse the blatent Ben Howard reference.
This is how I like my Wednesday mornings... without pupils.

I got up in time for my 8am class, but seemingly none of my 4 possible pupils did so I used the time to catch up on admin. Can't say I was complaining. Won't be happening again soon though as the BTS are back this week! This was followed by sitting through an another hour of presentations with Isabelle watching people who clearly do not realise that conjugation is a thing. Always interesting. Then an hour of games with 4 lovely girls from Nelly's class, they're not very good at English but they're lovely and managed to make me laugh lots. Next I had STMG, the less said the better. I have now learnt I am allowed to make the stay at school on Wednesday and I feel this is a power I may have to start using.

In the afternoon I sat down to watch Intouchable - a film often recommended to me by the French kids. I'm often sceptical of their recommendations baring in mind their love for Project X but this really was a good film. Simple on the level of the story but beautifully easy to become emotionally involved in. The Einaudi soundtrack certainly helped.

Part way through the film I received a call from Ludovic asking if I wanted to do anything that afternoon. As I'm still terrible at phone conversations I didn't understand what we were doing but dutifully turned up at 3 o'clock anyway. We went shopping, Ludovic was looking for new speedos which kept Elsa and I entertained for a while and then we went to Casino Geant for lots of foods. A dinner of gratin and all the obligatory trimmings that go with dinner at their house was lovely. Got in late but feeling content.
