Topsham Quay
We stopped off at Topsham, just outside Exeter on the River Exe, on the way home for a look round. Despite the facts that we've lived just 40 miles away for 40 years and I used to spend holidays at my Aunt and Uncle's house in nearby Exmouth as a boy, I've never visited Topsham before.
It's an interesting place to wander round with, as you can see, great views of the river. Originally the main port for Exeter, it was the place where William of Orange landed when he came to take the throne and subsequently became a base for Dutch traders. There are still many Dutch - style and Regency houses on the waterfront and lots of quaint English cottages too.
We were home in time for Keep Fat but I'm still behind with my blipping.
