Lake Rotopounamu, Tongariro National Park

Apparently there are some mountains and volcanoes here in Tongariro National Park. All we have seen so far is rain, and we are higher up so its cold too. We managed a 6k circular walk round lake Rotopounamu which was great as it was virtually all in forest which sheltered us from the worst of the rain and wind. The forest was amazing, the beach half way round not so much fun as without the protection of the trees we caught the full force of the 45 degree driving rain... forecast is better for tomorrow.
