"A private war"
A biopic documentary film about Marie Colvin - the celebrated war correspondent.
It charts her career travelling to more war zones than most soldiers will see and the impact it has on her, people close to her and the wider world.
There was a live stream q+a with the director and cast who explained the effort they'd put into authenticity - Marie's friend and photographer was involved in the whole shoot, they interviewed locals, refugees, military personnel and many of them appear in the film, re-telling their own stories in the hope of showing people worlds away the human cost of recent conflicts.
Harrowing, hard to watch, funny and a full of tension that is strange given that we know the ending. I'd definitely recommend it, even if it's just for the reminder that war is still very much a thing.
