Elterwater
Monday 4th February 2019 - LPH Day 1
Unfortunately rain yesterday cleared a lot of the remaining snow and it is now only patchy on the hills. Not quite what I was hoping for for this week. However, we have had a wonderful and glorious day and the snow on the hills does give extra interest.
We spent the day at Elterwater, not that we walked very far. Along the river and to the lake took us most of the day. The light was wonderful and for most of the day it was relatively warm. By mid-afternoon the light was fading and it was getting rather cold. We decided to call it a day and head to the tea room in Grasmere. On the way home though the sun was setting and we spent an extra half hour at Castlerigg stone circle.
After a wonderful meal, as usual, we had an interesting evening of reviewing photos. Now pleasantly tired.
