Henry Moore!

Had such a wonderful walk on Kit Hill with The Exile and Ginger. We had tried Hingston Down but the snow had mostly gone - Kit Hill however, being the highest point in Cornwall, had loads still, and a treacherous drive up the icy track! Once there Oscar suddenly took off! He disappeared from view and just occassionaly I could see a flash of movement. After a lot of calling he raced back only to run off once more - this time when he reapppeared two ponies were behind him! You can just make out their tan and white colours to the left of him amongst the trees! No idea how he spotted them in the first place! When we got to the quarry both dogs went berserk, rolling in the snow and then Ginger chasing Oscar round and round! Up on the slope of Kit Hill we bumped into Compassionate Girl and her sister - more mad racing between Oscar and Ginger as we chatted! More photos here of course!  One of oscar having a snow roll!
We passed two lots of snowpeople - both in pairs! I liked the rather Henry Moore appearance of the ones in my blip! It was another wondrous walk in the snow, and not too chilly, but then I did have 3 layers on my legs and 5 on my body!
When I got home there was a message from the teacher who now takes my class. She is younger than me and left to take up a post in another school as she found the head too domineering and bullying. I sat in on a meeting she had with her once when a parent complained about her class - but when the deputy was taking it on her non-contact! The parent was appalled to discover she was getting the blame so this meeting was to put the record straight! I got to go into all these meetings being the NUT rep! Anyway - she is now teaching 3 days a week as she has two young children and found after two other schools that really Headteachers are sadly pretty much of the same ilk everywhere!
She wanted the tune of one of the songs I used to do for Science. I asked if she would like some more of of my resources as she had taken some when she forst strated with the class, and she jumped at the offer! I had been about to tackle the resource room that coming week so what timing!  I was most touched by her comments in our messaging. She said my name came up frequently as in " What would Judith do /  How did Judith do this?" and then finished with this "just for the record, you'll always be my teaching inspiration. You've made a bigger impact on those around you than I think you'll ever know.... thank you "
It will be  so good to get the resources back in use with the type of children they had been bought for and with a teacher who knows how to use them.
