Pillbox #2

Another Type 24 pillbox on the Ouse stop line. For many years  this one was almost entirely hidden from view by a mountain of Ivy and Bramble. It was cleared away a couple of years ago to reveal the structure intact inside and out. The field of fire is toward the bridge that carries the A275 across the River Ouse at Sheffield Park railway station. This one has four forward facing embrasures (rather than five) and an L-shaped rear blast wall.
