Needles and thread

Very high winds again this morning and I just knew we'd lose power!  Sure enough, we did. I decided to go down quickly for a paper.  I had just turned out of the driveway and saw some neighbours coming up the road, waving wildly at me.  A tree had come down over the wires not far down the road. Thank goodness it missed them, a close call!  And thank goodness I hadn't gone down a bit earlier as I intended because I might not have been able to get home. 
I looked around the house for something to blip and decided on some needles and thread. The needles and the wooden spools were my mum's - 35 cents for the needles!  I still have a few of her sewing supplies, including a tin of embroidery thread. 
A very odd day with weather.  It was cold and so windy this morning, it cleared up a bit with sunny skies for awhile, and now it's snowing lightly, as forecast.  The power did come back on just before 4:00, so I managed to get my blips posted.  And I'll be able to cook the galette as planned!
